Why I Bought TTD, SMCI, and HIMS — The Chart Setups Behind the Trades

The market had been uneasy for weeks. One by one, three stocks I’d been watching fell more than 50%. Most people saw disaster. I saw potential.

Sharp declines like that often leave stocks deeply oversold — the kind of moments where patience and planning matter more than emotion. Instead of reacting to fear, I went back to my charts. Levels. Structure. Probability. No guesswork.

I waited for the setups I’d mapped out long before the panic. And when price finally reached them, I acted — calmly, without hesitation — because the risk-reward made sense.

Moments like these remind me why every investor should learn technical analysis. Not to predict the future, but to stay grounded when the crowd isn’t.

Lets break down the trades one by one.

TradeDesk (TTD)

I recently bought this stock at $36.03 per share. Here’s the technical setup that gave me the confidence to take the trade.

TTD hit a high of $140. Was I buying there? Absolutely not.

From a TA perspective, there was no reason to chase strength at those levels. But I already had my entry levels mapped out — specifically where two major trendlines were converging.

That area formed a strong “two-factor” support zone.

Price finally reached that zone — and momentum had washed out (RSI below 30). That combination doesn’t happen often, so I took the trade. I bought shares around $36.03, which I see as a great opportunity.

From here, I’m comfortable holding and could easily see a bounce toward the ~$50 area. I’ll decide the exit when the chart tells me — but the risk-reward is better than almost anything else I’m seeing right now.

Of course, there’s still risk. That’s exactly what TA levels help manage. If price decisively breaks and closes below that support/two-factor area, that would be my signal to stop out. I’ll be using the weekly chart to avoid getting shaken out by short-term noise.

I don’t give buy/sell recommendations — but I do regularly share my chart setups so you can follow along, study the structure, and decide for yourself.

If the setups play out, the goal is that you’ll understand why they worked and feel more confident making your own decisions.

Final Thoughts

When the market started slipping, I didn’t need bold calls — I needed a plan. My levels were mapped long before the fear showed up, so when price finally reached them, it wasn’t a guess. It was execution. Risk defined. Reward clear. Emotions out of the way.

TA doesn’t promise certainty. It gives structure — where to act, where to wait, and where to accept you’re wrong. That’s how you protect capital while still giving yourself a chance to win.

And if you want to learn that kind of discipline, my upcoming TA course is built exactly for that — real charts, real examples, and strategies you can actually use with confidence when the moment comes.
